Immersive Van Gogh will make its West Coast premiere at San Francisco’s SVN West, conveniently located at the intersection of two main thoroughfares (South Van Ness and Market St.), beginning Thursday, March 18, 2021.
You will be immersed in Van Gogh’s works – from his sunny landscapes and night scenes to his portraits and still life paintings. The installation includes the Mangeurs de Pommes de Terre (The Potato Eaters, 1885), the Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers, 1888), and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889), and so much more.
Astonishing in scale and breathtakingly imaginative, you will experience Van Gogh’s art in a completely new and unforgettable way.
The exhibit is designed by creative director and Italian film producer Massimiliano Siccardi with original music by multimedia composer Luca Longobardi, who is renowned for bringing together classical and contemporary genres.
The exhibition is custom-designed to formerly the home of the Fillmore West and Carousel Ballroom (SVN West) with its three floors of raw venue space that are steeped in musical history. The main hall, reverently named Carousel, showcased dozens of concerts during its brief operation from 1968 to 1971, including musical legends like the Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, B.B. King, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, and more.
Conveniently located at the intersection of SF’s two main thoroughfares (South Van Ness and Market), SVN West features over 100,000 sq. ft. of event space. The open floor plan offers maximum versatility and includes Carousel and its adjacent rooftop, along with a spacious mezzanine and additional ground floor event space. Reactivated by Non Plus Ultra, SVN West is already the hottest ticket in town.
