After a smashing success in Toronto in 2013, Yuri Shevchuk & DDT returns with the new grandiose concert project – “Transparent”!
“It is called “Transparent”, because we hold no grudges. We are simple guys with guitars. We want peace and love.” – says Yuri Shevchuk’
Russian top rock band DDT has been led by Yuri Shevchuk for more than 3 decades. The band has always been known for their rough but sincere social position. Yuri Schevchuk is a leader of the band, a songwriter, a poet, a composer, a performer, an artist, an actor and a producer, and he is one of the most popular musicians of Russia.
DDT songs are of various genres and forms: from rock’n’roll and blues to psychedelic and the Russian folklore.
On August 25, 2010 Yury Shevchuk sang a duet with Bono (U2), performing a version of “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” in Moscow.
The band won numerous Russian musical awards over their long career.
“Transparent” is the twentieth studio album by DDT, released in May 2014. “The songs in the new album are unfairly positive. But here is the rule: the more unsolvable problems time puts on us, the more often we face the question “what will be with our Homeland and with us?”. And the wisest advice would be to smile and show “F” to all gloomy and lifeless. The new album is rather light lyrically and sound wise. Of course, it can’t be said about a couple of songs of the civil content”. / Yuri Shevchuk
Program includes the new songs as well as old hits.
