After ringing in the new year at Carnegie Hall, international superstar Lara Fabian will make a rare, one night only appearance in Toronto at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts, on Monday, January 13, 2014.
A multi-platinum selling polyglot pop star, Lara Fabian has a thirty year career that spans the world, but began in Quebec. A megastar in Canada in the mid 90s, Fabian released three records and performed more than 200 concerts in two years. Belgian-born, Fabian also became a Canadian citizen in 1995. (In 1988, Fabian lost the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest . . . to Celine Dion.)
In support of her eleventh studio album, the first French recordings in eight years, Le Secret (partially recorded in Canada) is a new, more honest approach to music for the chanteuse. A chart-topper in France the day it was released, “Le Secret is an adventure, an inner and liberating journey that can sweep away sufferings. Inside all of us, we all have the absolute power to transform ourselves, to discover our own secret.” Lara Fabian
With a devoted following around the world, Lara Fabian has continued to produce records and tour tirelessly. Her fan base spans across Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Algeria, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. In 2011 she was part of a star-studded cast of performers celebrating the 80th birthday of Nobel Peace Prize winner Mikhail Gorbachev.
For this concert, Fabian will perform a selection of her essential tracks, and Le Secret, ninety minutes of uninterrupted music; songs as a succession of stories that follow one another but never intertwine, that gently assemble without being alike, but that form a single personality.
