TOUCH
by Guillaume Côté and Thomas Payette
| Opens September 29, 2021 |
—
Touch is an unparalleled immersive experience created for the extraordinary Gallery 2 of the Lighthouse Arts Space by Guillaume Côté, with the artists of Côté Danse, in collaboration with Hub Studio.
Fusing powerful projections with superb live dance, Touch is a highly interactive performance, forging a dialogue between audience, performers and multimedia within this 360-projection space. Touch explores the relationship between two people and their various states of interaction. We discover the lost meaning of touch by experiencing the visceral intimacy of physical contact through their longing, loving, confusion, frustration, pent-up rage, and the catharsis of expressing innermost feelings.
With the help of technology, Touch expands the emotions of our characters into this amazing space and creates an immersive world that not only parallels their inner states, but also enhances the experience through stunning imagery and interaction.

Touch has been designed as a reaction to this unprecedented time we are living in, both in the subject matter and in the performance experience. We are all craving human contact and closeness, and the pent-up frustration of this year-long pandemic with its hopeful release is portrayed by the artists and their relationship to each other.
Conceptualized and designed as an immersive performance, this new creation will be presented by Lighthouse Immersive in Toronto at Lighthouse Arts Space, starting September 29, 2021.
